TRAVCAR SAN DIEGO - Policies

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS MUST MEET THE SAME QUALIFICATIONS AS THE PRIMARY DRIVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AGE, LICENSE, AND MAJOR CREDIT CARD. IF YOU HAVE ARRANGED FOR A CASH RENTAL ADDITIONAL DRIVERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

AFTER HOURS

PLEASE CALL SAN DIEGO OFFICE AT 619-231-9700 IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF DROPPING RENTAL CAR AFTER NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.

AGE

MUST BE 21-YRS OR OLDER WITH A MAJOR CREDIT CARD

NOTE: Call location office for conditions for renting drivers 18 yrs. to 20 yrs, or on military orders.

RENTERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 21 YRS AND 24 YRS ARE SUBJECT TO AN UNDER-AGE FEE OF $20.00 PER DAY.

CANCELLATION

If your reservation was confirmed directly with TravCar Car Rental by utilizing the reservation call center at 619-231-9700, or thru the TravCar Car Rental web page at www.travcar.com, please use the same source to cancel your reservation. TravCar does not charge a cancellation fee unless it is less than 24-hours on a specialty vehicle, but in any case does request such cancellation notice as soon as travel plans have changed. If your reservation was confirmed through another provider (booking sites, other outside sources, etc.), please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some providers (booking sites, outside sources, etc.) may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if not cancelled within a specific time frame. Cancellation of a reservation directly thru TravCar Car Rental when confirmed thru another provider, may not relieve your responsibility with that provider. In order to alleviate such charges (cancellation fee or penalty) check with the provider and cancel the reservation directly with the provider.

COMMISSION

WE PAY COMMISSIONS TO LICENSED TRAVEL AGENTS, AND OUTSIDE THIRD PARTY AGGREGATORS. PLEASE CALL OUR TOLL FREE NUMBER AT 619-231-9700 FOR QUESTIONS!

DEBIT CARDS

Debit Cards are only accepted at the time of rental when presented with the return flight segment of a round trip airline ticket. Return segment can be presented in the form of the actual ticket or an electronic ticket.

At time of rental the counter representative will take a copy of the presented document and attach to the original rental document retained at the location. Valid drivers license and debit card must be in the same name. Debit Cards must have available funds of $250.00 plus total estimated rental charges.

NOTE: Unused funds will be returned through the credit card processor after vehicle return. Due to bank processing it can take up to 14 days to appear back on your account when using this form of payment.

DRIVERS LICENSE

Before we will rent a vehicle and when the customer arrives at our location, the customer and any additional authorized drivers may be subject to a driving record and license check with the DMV. In the rare instance the driving record and license check fails to meet our criteria, we reserve the right to deny the rental based on the DMV report. A list of our criteria follows:

The drivers have a valid license that is not currently suspended, revoked, expired, or surrendered and The drivers have not, during the last 24 months, accrued 8 or more points and The drivers have not, during the last 36 months, pled guilty or paid a fine for, or otherwise been convicted, of:

three or more moving violations two or more accidents and The drivers have not, during the last 48 months, pled guilty or paid a fine for, or otherwise been convicted, of:

One or more reckless driving, one or more accidents with a fatality or bodily injury, operating a vehicle, or permitting the operation of a vehicle, without a license or without insurance.

Possession of a stolen vehicle or using a vehicle in a crime, or failure to report an accident or leaving the scene of an accident, and the drivers have not, during the last 72 months, been convicted of DWI, DWAI, or DUI.

EMERGENCY INFO

TravCar is pleased to offer roadside assistance in Southern California within our geographic permitted driving area. Simply call the toll-free emergency roadside service number located on your TravCar Rental agreement holder.

EQUIPMENT

In California, state laws require children six years of age or younger less than 60 pounds in weight to be in a child restraint device. There is a $7.00 per day fee for child seats. If the seat is not returned in the same condition, less normal wear and tear as received, a cleaning fee will be assessed. If the seat is damaged a repair or replacement charge will be applied.

Hand control vehicles available with a 72-hour advance reservation through our Reservation Center at 619-231-9700.

GPS units are available at $9.95 per day. Please ask for details at the time of rental.

GAS

The renter must refill the gas tank of the vehicle within a 10-mile radius of the rental return facility and present a fuel receipt to avoid a refueling charge unless the renter chooses the prepaid fuel option. If the renter chooses the prepaid fuel option, the renter will pay a specified charge as set forth in the rental agreement and have no obligation to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.

There is no credit or refund given for any fuel in the tank at the end of the rental. If the renter does not choose the prepaid fuel option and does not return the vehicle with a full tank of gas, the renter will be required to pay a fuel charge to compensate TravCar for the cost and service of refueling the vehicle. The fuel charge is based on the estimated number of gallons needed to refill the tank multiplied by the rate per gallon charge specified on the rental agreement. TravCar may use different methods of estimating the number of gallons needed to refill the tank and these methods of estimation necessarily rely on human judgment. Most TravCar locations estimate the number of gallons needed to refill the gas tank either (1) by reading the fuel gauge to estimate the approximate amount of fuel needed to refill the tank (for example, one-half tank) and multiplying that number by the manufacturers specified fuel tank capacity, or (2) if the renter did not purchase any fuel during the rental, by reading the odometer to determine the amount of miles driven during the rental and dividing that number by the vehicles estimated fuel efficiency (miles per gallon) based on the manufacturers fuel efficiency specifications.

GEOGRAPHIC

Vehicles must remain in the geographic area of Southern California (no further than the Mexican border of California to the south, and no further than Los Angeles county in Southern California to the north, and no further than Imperial County to the east ) without prior written approval.

Vehicles may not enter Mexico without prior written approval and purchase of Mexican Insurance at our rental counter at time of rental.

HOLIDAY

PLEASE READ AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH OUR HOURS OF OPERATION DURING NATIONAL HOLIDAYS HONOR RESERVATIONS

Reservations will be honored for a period of four hours after the confirmed pick up date and time during normal business hours. Reservations confirmed for a pick up within the locations last three hours of operations, will be honored by that location up to 9 am the next day.

INSURANCE

Optional Insurance not required to rent a vehicle. Details available at rental counter.

Rental liability coverage (RLP) Primary insurance protecting you against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained while operating the rental vehicle, up to the required financial responsibility limits of the state in which the vehicle is licensed. Does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. Cost: $12.99 per rental day.

Supplemental Liability Coverage (SLP) This coverage is excess over underlying insurance specific within your signed rental agreement up to S1,000,000 dollars. Protects you against claims made by third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while operating the rental vehicle. Does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. Cost: $11.99 per rental day.

Personal Property/Personal Accident Coverage (PPC) Personal property coverage protects against damage to personal effects owned by the renter, as well as immediate family members of the renter, who permanently reside in the renters household and are traveling with the renter. Personal accident coverage provides accidental death and accidental medical expense benefit to the renter and their passenger (s). The death and medical expense benefit will both pay in addition to any other coverage that might be applicable to the renter or passengers. Cost: $7.99 per rental day.

Loss Damage Waiver (This is not insurance) this is a waiver for damage to the rental vehicle only. When accepted at the time of rental TravCar Car Rental will waive the right to collect for damages to the rental vehicle when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Cost: Economy, compact and midsize $9.00 per rental day / standard, full size, SUV, mini van, convertibles, luxury, premium, specialty $15.00 per rental day.

TravCar offers the purchase of Mexico Insurance (Major credit card only) on vehicle rentals of economy thru full size only. Mexico insurance must be purchased at a TravCar location ONLY at the time of rental or prior to travel to Mexico. Rates start at $25.00 per 24 hour day including tax. Specialty or Premium vehicles are not allowed to travel into Mexico. Travel is allowed a maximum of 60-miles from the California border of Mexico to the south along the Pacific Coast, or only as far as Ensanada.

LOCAL RENTERS

THERE MAY BE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR RENTERS WHO LIVE AND/OR WORK IN SAN DIEGO

NO-SHOWS

IF YOU ARE RENTING A SPECIALTY VEHICLE (12 TO 15 PASSENGER VAN, ETC), OR A PREMIUM VEHICLE (LUXURY, SUV, OR SIMILAR) YOU MAY BE CHARGED FOR AT LEAST ONE-DAYS RENTAL WHETHER YOU SHOW UP TO RENT THE VEHICLE OR NOT. ASK WHEN MAKING YOUR RESERVATION WHETHER NO-SHOW RATES APPLY.

ONE-WAY

YOU MUST RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCATION THAT YOU RENTED IT. WE DO NOT ALLOW ONE-WAY RENTALS.

PAYMENT

Debit cards: Debit card only accepted at time of rental when presented with the return flight segment of a round trip airline ticket. Major credit cards: Valid drivers license and credit card must be in the same name. Credit card must have available funds of $250.00 or estimated amount of rental charges plus 15% whichever is greater. NOTE: We do not accept the miniature key tag style credit cards.

Cash rentals: Available on economy, compact and midsize car class reservation only. Only accepted at time of rental when presented with the copy of the incoming flight and return flight segments of a round trip airline ticket with the same name as indicated on valid drivers license. Incoming and return segments can be presented in the form of the actual ticket or an electronic ticket. At time of rental the counter representative will take a copy of the presented documents and attach to the original rental document retained at the location. Cash funds in the amount of $250.00 plus estimated rental charges taken at time of rental when aforementioned conditions met. Cash rentals may not apply to renters living in the city where the rental car location you are renting from is located. Please call ahead for cash requirements. Additional drivers not available on cash rentals.

NOTE: Unused funds will be sent back to customers in a form of check within 14 days after the rental is closed.

Credit card and drivers license must be in same name.

Prepaid cards: Prepaid Visa/MasterCard are not accepted as a form of payment at time of rental.

Payment at car return: Debit cards, prepaid Visa/MasterCard, and cash always accepted as payment upon return.

PICKUP/DROP

RENTER WILL BE CHARGED THE DAILY RENTAL FEE PLUS $10.00 PER DAY IF THE VEHICLE IS RETURNED EARLIER OR LATER THAN THE AGREED UPON RENTAL DATE AS INDICATED IN RENTAL AGREEMENT.

RULES

Airport concession fee and tourism assessment fee Pursuant to California law, starting January 1, 2007, all rentals will be charged and airport concession fee of up to 11.1% and a tourism assessment fee 2.5%. Actual charges will be calculated at the time of rental.

Extensions: To extend the rental agreement, customers must contact the location. If vehicle is kept longer than the return date stated on the rental agreement (contract), the rate will increase by $10.00 per day. The increased rate will be charged for each day after due return date, until the vehicle is returned, plus any repossession fees.

Length of rental Rental agreements (contract): Rentals cannot be assigned for a period longer than 30 days. If you have reserved the vehicle for a longer period of time, you must go into the location prior to the 31st day and renew the rental agreement (contract).

Grace period: A rental day is each 24 hour time period commencing with the date/time indicated on the rental agreement (contract) at the time of rental. There is a 59 minutes grace period for return. Hourly charges may apply after this grace period. After three hours a full-day charge may apply.

Additional renters information: All renters/drivers will be required, at the time of rental, to supply: A valid drivers license (U.S., Canadian or international licenses with a valid passport are accepted), current home address (not P.O.Box), a current home phone number, and second contact pone number (cell or business).

NOTE: Additional drivers are not allowed on cash rentals.

SHUTTLE

Upon arrival, for immediate pick up service call 619-231-9700 and press 0 to contact the office directly. From there, follow the signs for ground transportation and wait at the courtesy vehicle island area. We will be driving a Mini-Van (not a full-sized city bus) with our Logo and Image clearly readable. The TravCar shuttle will pick you up in minutes. TravCar Car Rental is located approx. 1.5 miles from the airport.

TRAVELING TO MEXICO

RENTERS MUST HAVE PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL TO ENTER MEXICO. NOT ALL CARS ARE PERMITTED TO ENTER MEXICO:
